CUTTER GROUP ROLL OF HONOUR
We do not know if we have all of the boats who have served so this is a place to begin...... Sometimes we know a boat by its name but have no record of its Owner/Skipper. We have no idea the names of those who might have crewed on these vessels. If you can help us in any way please.
CHECK OUR CUTTER GROUP ROLE OF HONOUR.
At the final farewell to the Cutter Group a collective award was made of the Distinguished Service Award.
This was the first time the Monty had been awarded since its acceptance in the unit.
Right. Monty McHugh at his last Coastguard appearance, life members night in 2012. He is shown with Jasper Robertson, creator of the Distinguished Service Award. The Monty as it is known, incorporates the 50 year service RNZCG gold chevron deeded to the unit by Monty McHugh before he crossed the bar.
The last operational Private Rescue Vessels. Clockwise from top left: HAURAKI HILTON Graham Brown, GREY BEAR Ron Lucca, MARKYLLA Steve Fordyce, KYRENIA Campbell Hope.
The four vessels rotated weekend duties throughout the year in support of our dedicated rescue vessels. Often their masters and crews were rostered on more than one PRV/DRV.
It is noted that of the above the Masters with the exception of Kyrenia have all served as Presidents of the Unit. All have become Life Members.
